Specification Quality Checklist: Complete Mission Identity Cutover
Purpose: Validate specification completeness and quality before proceeding to planning Created: 2026-04-06 Feature: spec.md
Content Quality
- ✅ No implementation details (languages, frameworks, APIs)
- ✅ Focused on user value and business needs
- ✅ Written for non-technical stakeholders
- ✅ All mandatory sections completed
Requirement Completeness
- ✅ No [NEEDS CLARIFICATION] markers remain
- ✅ Requirements are testable and unambiguous
- ✅ Requirement types are separated (Functional / Non-Functional / Constraints)
- ✅ IDs are unique across FR-###, NFR-###, and C-### entries
- ✅ All requirement rows include a non-empty Status value
- ✅ Non-functional requirements include measurable thresholds
- ✅ Success criteria are measurable
- ✅ Success criteria are technology-agnostic (no implementation details)
- ✅ All acceptance scenarios are defined
- ✅ Edge cases are identified
- ✅ Scope is clearly bounded
- ✅ Dependencies and assumptions identified
Feature Readiness
- ✅ All functional requirements have clear acceptance criteria
- ✅ User scenarios cover primary flows
- ✅ Feature meets measurable outcomes defined in Success Criteria
- ✅ No implementation details leak into specification
Notes
- All items pass after review iteration 2. Spec is ready for
/spec-kitty.plan. - FR-019 (canonical meta.json fields) added after review identified that the spec's own generated metadata still used legacy field names.
- FR-020 (body queue migration) promoted from risk note to explicit FR after review identified the gap.
- Scenarios 6-7 added for meta.json and queue migration coverage.
- The "body_upload_queue has no column named feature_slug" error observed during feature creation is documented as evidence of the partial cutover state in the Assumptions section.
- Success criterion 5 (grep-based verification) provides a concrete, automated way to validate the "no feature-era surfaces on live paths" requirement.
- Pending resolution: P1 baseline accuracy -- code verification shows tracker bind, body sync, and pyproject.toml are NOT yet in canonical state on
main. Awaiting user confirmation before adjusting the "Already canonical" section.
