Specification Quality Checklist: Full Common Docs Consolidation
Purpose: Validate specification completeness and quality before proceeding to planning Created: 2026-06-27 Feature: spec.md
Content Quality
- ✅ No implementation details (languages, frameworks, APIs) — domain surfaces named (DocFX, frontmatter, page-inventory) are the existing artifacts under consolidation, not new implementation choices
- ✅ Focused on user value and business needs (search-time, sprawl reduction)
- ✅ Written for non-technical stakeholders
- ✅ All mandatory sections completed
Requirement Completeness
- ✅ No [NEEDS CLARIFICATION] markers remain
- ✅ Requirements are testable and unambiguous
- ✅ Requirement types are separated (Functional / Non-Functional / Constraints)
- ✅ IDs are unique across FR-###, NFR-###, and C-### entries
- ✅ All requirement rows include a non-empty Status value
- ✅ Non-functional requirements include measurable thresholds (0 broken links, 100% URL continuity, generated==committed)
- ✅ Success criteria are measurable
- ✅ Success criteria are technology-agnostic (outcome-framed)
- ✅ All acceptance scenarios are defined (primary + 2 exceptions)
- ✅ Edge cases are identified (moved-doc URL, re-introduced root)
- ✅ Scope is clearly bounded (Out of Scope section)
- ✅ Dependencies and assumptions identified
Feature Readiness
- ✅ All functional requirements have clear acceptance criteria (mapped to SC-001..007 + NFR thresholds)
- ✅ User scenarios cover primary flows
- ✅ Feature meets measurable outcomes defined in Success Criteria
- ✅ No implementation details leak into specification
Notes
are deferred to the plan phase (the spec flags it in Assumptions).
