Specification Quality Checklist: Pack-Metadata Manifest Unification
Purpose: Validate specification completeness and quality before proceeding to planning Created: 2026-08-16 Feature: spec.md
Content Quality
- [~] No implementation details (languages, frameworks, APIs) — infrastructure mission: the domain objects ARE schemas/files/resolvers already ratified by ADR 2026-08-16-1; file/field references are intentional and load-bearing, not incidental tech choices.
- ✅ Focused on user value and business needs (verifiable, navigable, trustworthy packs)
- ✅ Written for stakeholders (pack authors + tooling maintainers are the stakeholders here)
- ✅ All mandatory sections completed
Requirement Completeness
- ✅ No [NEEDS CLARIFICATION] markers remain (Q1/Q2 captured as explicit Assumptions)
- ✅ Requirements are testable and unambiguous
- ✅ Requirement types are separated (Functional / Non-Functional / Constraints)
- ✅ IDs are unique across FR-###, NFR-###, and C-### entries
- ✅ All requirement rows include a non-empty Status value (Open)
- ✅ Non-functional requirements include measurable thresholds (0 new resolvers; 0 regressions; 0-byte re-run diff; 0 authored fields)
- ✅ Success criteria are measurable (SC-001..005 with counts/percentages/0-diff)
- ✅ Success criteria are technology-agnostic to the extent the infra domain allows
- ✅ All acceptance scenarios are defined (Given/When/Then per user story)
- ✅ Edge cases are identified (cycles, empty constituents, legacy counts, unknown accompanies target)
- ✅ Scope is clearly bounded (C-003: manifest-unification slice only, not compound-packs)
- ✅ Dependencies and assumptions identified (Assumptions section: Q1/Q2, ADR-on-PR, #2539 adjacency)
Feature Readiness
- ✅ All functional requirements have clear acceptance criteria
- ✅ User scenarios cover primary flows (unify → identity/lineage → authored/generated split)
- ✅ Feature meets measurable outcomes defined in Success Criteria
- [~] No implementation details leak into specification — see Content Quality note (intentional for this infra mission)
Notes
- The two
~items are the standard infrastructure-spec tension: this mission's domain is pack schemas, files, and the extends resolver, all fixed by ADR 2026-08-16-1. The file/field references are the domain vocabulary, not premature implementation choices, so they are retained deliberately rather than abstracted away. - Ready for
