Specification Quality Checklist: Pack-Path Portability & Language-Scope Authority

Purpose: Validate specification completeness and quality before proceeding to planning Created: 2026-07-07 Feature: spec.md

Content Quality

  • ✅ No implementation details (languages, frameworks, APIs) — FRs describe behavior (expansion, precedence, fail-closed), not specific validator method names or line numbers.
  • ✅ Focused on user value and business needs — portability across machines/CI; correct language-scope filtering after charter edits.
  • ✅ Written for non-technical stakeholders — scenarios framed as operator actions and observable outcomes.
  • ✅ All mandatory sections completed.

Requirement Completeness

  • ✅ No [NEEDS CLARIFICATION] markers remain — all three open decisions were resolved via the Decision Moment Protocol (01KWY7B134NS9KEC9SWAJ8M0CH, 01KWY7B9DFRWNM7WV0GK1XG6K1, 01KWY7BHZDKJ8PKZBPY2C6BXHS); agent decision verify returned status: clean.
  • ✅ Requirements are testable and unambiguous.
  • ✅ Requirement types are separated (Functional / Non-Functional / Constraints).
  • ✅ IDs are unique across FR-###, NFR-###, and C-### entries.
  • ✅ All requirement rows include a non-empty Status value.
  • ✅ Non-functional requirements include measurable thresholds (NFR-001: no measurable latency added; NFR-002: no interview re-run required).
  • ✅ Success criteria are measurable.
  • ✅ Success criteria are technology-agnostic.
  • ✅ All acceptance scenarios are defined (primary, exception, round-trip/disagreement, regression, security-boundary per WP).
  • ✅ Edge cases are identified (unset env var, pre-compile fallback, subdir-expansion exclusion, symlink-escape ordering).
  • ✅ Scope is clearly bounded (C-001 independence, C-002 explicit exclusion of #2213).
  • ✅ Dependencies and assumptions identified.

Feature Readiness

  • ✅ All functional requirements have clear acceptance criteria (mapped to scenarios above).
  • ✅ User scenarios cover primary flows for both WP1 and WP2.
  • ✅ Feature meets measurable outcomes defined in Success Criteria.
  • ✅ No implementation details leak into specification.

Notes

  • Scope was pre-anchored to the live codebase by a 4-lens pre-spec investigation squad (architect-alphonso, debugger-debbie, doctrine-daphne, planner-priti — each profile-loaded) before this spec was written; all FRs trace to squad-confirmed, code-grounded findings rather than the raw issue text alone.
  • All items pass on first pass; no iteration required.
