Specification Quality Checklist: Sonar BUG and BLOCKER Remediation

Purpose: Validate specification completeness and quality before proceeding to planning Created: 2026-08-10 Feature: spec.md

Content Quality

  • ✅ No implementation details (languages, frameworks, APIs) — requirements name Sonar rule-classes and outcomes, not fixes
  • ✅ Focused on user value and business needs (clean quality gate, no masked defects)
  • ✅ Written for non-technical stakeholders (developer/maintainer scenarios in plain language)
  • ✅ All mandatory sections completed

Requirement Completeness

  • ✅ No [NEEDS CLARIFICATION] markers remain
  • ✅ Requirements are testable and unambiguous (each maps to a countable Sonar rule-class)
  • ✅ Requirement types are separated (Functional / Non-Functional / Constraints)
  • ✅ IDs are unique across FR-###, NFR-###, and C-### entries
  • ✅ All requirement rows include a non-empty Status value (Open)
  • ✅ Non-functional requirements include measurable thresholds (0 added suppressions; 0 new ruff/mypy; red-first evidence; 0 BUG/BLOCKER post-scan)
  • ✅ Success criteria are measurable (issue counts to zero)
  • ✅ Success criteria are technology-agnostic (Sonar issue counts / suppression counts, no framework internals)
  • ✅ All acceptance scenarios are defined
  • ✅ Edge cases are identified (unrecoverable intent, intentional constant-return, trusted-local path, new-code coverage)
  • ✅ Scope is clearly bounded (C-003: exactly the 34 BUG + 7 BLOCKER; HIGH out of scope)
  • ✅ Dependencies and assumptions identified

Feature Readiness

  • ✅ All functional requirements have clear acceptance criteria
  • ✅ User scenarios cover primary flows (correctness/security P1; test-integrity P2)
  • ✅ Feature meets measurable outcomes defined in Success Criteria
  • ✅ No implementation details leak into specification
