Specification Quality Checklist: CLI Startup Readiness Coordinator Skeleton
Purpose: Validate specification completeness and quality before proceeding to planning Created: 2026-05-22 Feature: spec.md
Content Quality
- ✅ No implementation details (languages, frameworks, APIs)
- Note: the spec mentions specific module paths (e.g.
src/specify_cli/readiness/coordinator.py) because this mission's deliverable IS a module at a specific path; that is a contract, not implementation detail. The spec also mentionsis_saas_sync_enabled()because that gate is the operating-rule first-check. Functional behavior is described in business-stakeholder language elsewhere. - ✅ Focused on user value and business needs (operator workflows: public user, dev operator, JSON consumer, existing-nag user, future implementer)
- ✅ Written for non-technical stakeholders (Domain Language section defines terms; journeys are operator-level)
- ✅ All mandatory sections completed (Overview, Journeys, Domain Language, FR, NFR, Constraints, Goals, Non-Goals, Acceptance Criteria, Assumptions, References)
Requirement Completeness
- ✅ No [NEEDS CLARIFICATION] markers remain
- ✅ Requirements are testable and unambiguous (each FR has a check-by-grep or check-by-test path)
- ✅ Requirement types are separated (Functional / Non-Functional / Constraints)
- ✅ IDs are unique across FR-001..FR-012, NFR-001..NFR-005, C-001..C-010
- ✅ All requirement rows include a non-empty Status value (
Active) - ✅ Non-functional requirements include measurable thresholds (≤1ms / ≤2ms p50; ≥90% coverage; mypy --strict passes; zero outbound network calls)
- ✅ Success criteria are measurable (10 numbered acceptance criteria, each with a green-light condition)
- ✅ Success criteria are technology-agnostic (the seam contract, not the implementation language)
- ✅ All acceptance scenarios are defined (5 journeys cover every code path)
- ✅ Edge cases are identified (defensive double-invocation,
ctx.obj is None, ctx.obj is not a dict, exception swallowing) - ✅ Scope is clearly bounded (Out-of-scope enumerates WS2 through WS7 as downstream missions)
- ✅ Dependencies and assumptions identified (5 explicit assumptions; references list existing helpers)
Feature Readiness
- ✅ All functional requirements have clear acceptance criteria (1:1 or 1:N mapping between FR and AC)
- ✅ User scenarios cover primary flows (5 journeys)
- ✅ Feature meets measurable outcomes defined in Success Criteria (10 acceptance criteria; 7-row test matrix)
- ✅ No implementation details leak into specification (paths and the named gate are contractual; no language-level constructs beyond the dataclass shape and a function signature)
Notes
- All checklist items pass on first iteration. No spec updates required for validation.
- Bulk-edit classification: NOT bulk-edit. This mission creates a new package and adds a single hook line in
helpers.py. No identifier rename across files.
