Specification Quality Checklist: Consolidate target-branch tip-capture helper + reclaim tasks-lifecycle squad MINORs

Purpose: Validate specification completeness and quality before proceeding to planning Created: 2026-09-25 Feature: spec.md

Content Quality

  • ✅ No implementation details (languages, frameworks, APIs) — note: this is a maintainer-facing tooling mission; code-surface names appear only as the domain objects being changed, not as prescribed implementation
  • ✅ Focused on user value and business needs (maintainer/operator correctness of the lane lifecycle)
  • ✅ Written for non-technical stakeholders — the value (no silent classification split-brain) is stated in plain terms in the Intent Summary
  • ✅ All mandatory sections completed

Requirement Completeness

  • ✅ No [NEEDS CLARIFICATION] markers remain
  • ✅ Requirements are testable and unambiguous
  • ✅ Requirement types are separated (Functional / Non-Functional / Constraints)
  • ✅ IDs are unique across FR-###, NFR-###, and C-### entries
  • ✅ All requirement rows include a non-empty Status value
  • ✅ Non-functional requirements include measurable thresholds (complexity ≤ 15; diff-cover ≥ 90%; byte-identical SHA)
  • ✅ Success criteria are measurable
  • ✅ Success criteria are technology-agnostic — SC framed as observable outcomes (one surface, agreement test, accurate count, unchanged output)
  • ✅ All acceptance scenarios are defined
  • ✅ Edge cases are identified
  • ✅ Scope is clearly bounded (C-001 excludes the third helper; #4611 dropped; #4152 item 1 / #4593 item 2 declined)
  • ✅ Dependencies and assumptions identified

Feature Readiness

  • ✅ All functional requirements have clear acceptance criteria
  • ✅ User scenarios cover primary flows
  • ✅ Feature meets measurable outcomes defined in Success Criteria
  • ✅ No implementation details leak into specification (design direction confined to the Assumptions section, explicitly flagged as plan-phase)

Notes

  • All items pass. The one nuance is that this is a mission on Spec Kitty's own tooling, so code-surface names are the domain vocabulary; the how (helper form, env, placement) is deferred to /spec-kitty.plan and recorded as intended direction in Assumptions, not as requirements.
  • Issue-matrix rows are present for all cited issues; bare #4857/#4593/#4152 will need matrix rows before their WPs can be approved (already recorded here).
