Specification Quality Checklist: Retrospective Durable Home + Topology-Aware Teardown

Purpose: Validate specification completeness and quality before proceeding to planning Created: 2026-06-25 Feature: spec.md

Content Quality

  • ✅ No implementation details (languages, frameworks, APIs) — file/function anchors live in the discovery note, not the spec FRs
  • ✅ Focused on user value and business needs (retrospectives survive teardown)
  • ✅ Written for non-technical stakeholders
  • ✅ All mandatory sections completed

Requirement Completeness

  • ✅ No [NEEDS CLARIFICATION] markers remain
  • ✅ Requirements are testable and unambiguous
  • ✅ Requirement types are separated (Functional / Non-Functional / Constraints)
  • ✅ IDs are unique across FR-###, NFR-###, and C-### entries
  • ✅ All requirement rows include a non-empty Status value
  • ✅ Non-functional requirements include measurable thresholds
  • ✅ Success criteria are measurable
  • ✅ Success criteria are technology-agnostic
  • ✅ All acceptance scenarios are defined
  • ✅ Edge cases are identified
  • ✅ Scope is clearly bounded (retrospective.yaml only; #1890 boundary; no open-PR gate — #2121/#2129/#2133/#2114/#2134/#2135 all merged)
  • ✅ Dependencies and assumptions identified

Feature Readiness

  • ✅ All functional requirements have clear acceptance criteria
  • ✅ User scenarios cover primary flows
  • ✅ Feature meets measurable outcomes defined in Success Criteria
  • ✅ No implementation details leak into specification

expected at /spec-kitty.plan: WP1 = FR-011 handle-safe seam (#2136) FOUNDATION → kind/authority + consolidation + teardown WPs via dependencies; recovery text + tidy line-disjoint and parallelizable.

  • Discovery completed via a 3-lens squad (priti/paula/alphonso); findings in
  • Sizing: priti flagged "undersized as a single seam" → a ~7 WP decomposition (ONE slice, no open-PR gate) is
  • #2136 folded as FR-011 (foundation); #2138/#2139/#2140 noted as an out-of-scope follow-on cluster.
  • All checklist items pass; ready for /spec-kitty.plan.
