Specification Quality Checklist: Windows upgrade POSIX-mode fidelity
Purpose: Validate specification completeness and quality before proceeding to planning Created: 2026-09-22 Feature: spec.md
Content Quality
- ✅ No implementation details leak into WHAT/WHY (call-sites named as scope anchors only, not as design)
- ✅ Focused on user value and business needs (Windows user can upgrade; converged = trustworthy)
- ✅ Written to be legible to non-technical stakeholders (summary + user stories)
- ✅ All mandatory sections completed
Requirement Completeness
- ✅ No [NEEDS CLARIFICATION] markers remain
- ✅ Requirements are testable and unambiguous
- ✅ Requirement types are separated (Functional / Non-Functional / Constraints)
- ✅ IDs are unique across FR-###, NFR-###, and C-### entries
- ✅ All requirement rows include a non-empty Status value
- ✅ Non-functional requirements include measurable thresholds (100% green, 0 regressions, self-mutation proof)
- ✅ Success criteria are measurable (0 crashes, 184→0 repairs, 0 regressions)
- ✅ Success criteria are technology-agnostic (user-facing outcomes)
- ✅ All acceptance scenarios are defined (Given/When/Then per story)
- ✅ Edge cases are identified (symlink-on-Windows, genuine POSIX divergence, mixed batch)
- ✅ Scope is clearly bounded (C-003 names out-of-scope #4925/#4783/#4928)
- ✅ Dependencies and assumptions identified (Assumptions section)
Feature Readiness
- ✅ All functional requirements have clear acceptance criteria
- ✅ User scenarios cover primary flows (crash-free upgrade; converged reports zero)
- ✅ Feature meets measurable outcomes defined in Success Criteria
- ✅ No implementation details leak into specification
Notes
two-lens grounding squad (alignment + scope) against current main.
not-applicable row rather than a silent omission.
- All items pass on the first iteration. Requirements are grounded in a completed
- The #4925 defer is recorded as a Constraint (C-003) and an issue-matrix
