Specification Quality Checklist: Reject Cyclic Lane Graphs
Purpose: Validate specification completeness and quality before proceeding to planning Created: 2026-08-23 Mission: spec.md
Content Quality
- ✅ No implementation details (languages, frameworks, or code structure)
- ✅ Focused on operator value and trustworthy workflow outcomes
- ✅ Written for Spec Kitty maintainers, operators, and automation authors
- ✅ All mandatory sections completed
Requirement Completeness
- ✅ No
[NEEDS CLARIFICATION]markers remain - ✅ Requirements are testable and unambiguous
- ✅ Requirement types are separated (Functional / Non-Functional / Constraints)
- ✅ IDs are unique across FR-###, NFR-###, and C-### entries
- ✅ All requirement rows include a non-empty Status value
- ✅ Non-functional requirements include measurable thresholds
- ✅ Success criteria are measurable
- ✅ Success criteria are technology-agnostic
- ✅ All acceptance scenarios are defined
- ✅ Edge cases are identified
- ✅ Scope is clearly bounded
- ✅ Dependencies and assumptions identified
Mission Readiness
- ✅ All functional requirements have clear acceptance criteria
- ✅ User scenarios cover the primary flow and recovery information
- ✅ Mission meets measurable outcomes defined in Success Criteria
- ✅ No implementation architecture leaks into the specification
Notes
- Confirmed decision: cyclic results fail before
lanes.jsonpersistence and preserve any existing validlanes.json. - Confirmed intent: finalization must identify the cycle and never report success for an unexecutable graph.
- Post-spec adversarial review folded canonical command/mode boundaries, the exact structured failure contract, deterministic normalization, and the single post-collapse acceptance authority into the spec.
- Full-command rollback was deliberately excluded: the confirmed integrity boundary is creation or replacement of
lanes.json, not earlier non-lane finalization effects. - SPDD/REASONS activation check returned inactive for this checkout, so no advisory canvas was created.
